Chill

Based on the novel by Ned Vizzini, BE MORE CHILL is the story of Jeremy, your average, nothing-special teenager. That is, until the day he finds out about "The Squip." Thus begins a journey that pits Jeremy's desire to be popular against his struggle to remain true to his authentic self.

CONCEPT

BE MORE CHILL is a viral sensation. Its journey to Broadway was motivated by a hungry fan based that stream its cast album over 200M times.

The production has sci-fi undertones, so for the key art I wanted to create an image that referenced some of the greatest sci-fi comedies of our time. In the production, Jeremy’s brain is taken over by a super computer formatted to make him more popular. The key art showcases that literal marriage of the physical character and his digitized persona. 8-bit video games also play a significant role in the story. That visual reference is a consistent theme across much of the secondary campaign content.

THE MAKING OF A Phenomenon : BOOK DESIGN

I designed a book to give fans a behind-the-scenes look of BE MORE CHILL. I worked hands-on with our editorial staff to help craft the outline for the overall book structure.

FRONT OF HOUSE INTERIOR & EXTERIOR DESIGN

I was tasked with designing the interior and exterior of the theater to allow fans to step into the world of the show. Working within the limitations of a landmarked building, the result is pixel perfect. Watch the video below to see the full experience come to life.
