NYBG

THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN is a botanical garden located at Bronx Park in the Bronx, New York City.

CONCEPT

I have had the thrilling task of designing multiple digital extension experiences for THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN.

World-famous artist CHIHULY created a truly breath-taking exhibition at NYBG.

I designed an interactive guide that delivered content to mobile devices through location based technology. Visitors were guided through the exhibition and garden grounds. Each installation appeared as an icon on a virtual map. As visitors approached these installations, the mobile guide triggered additional rich contextual information about the artwork or the process of its creation. Featured content included: written facts, audio recordings, videos, and 360° imagery.

MULTI-MEDIA CONTENT

As visitors approached these installations, the mobile guide triggered additional rich contextual information about the artwork or the process of its creation. Featured content included: written facts, audio recordings, videos, and 360° imagery.

The design of the app is an extension of the existing NYBG brand guidelines and is meant to enrich the experience of going to the gardens. Our team utilized beacon technology to provide site-specific, multi-media content for consumers of all ages.

Day to night imagery

All of the imagery showcased on the app was customized depending on time of day. Our team thought it was important to have the 360°content be representative of the experience guests were having in the garden.
