Why do I want to work for SESAME WORKSHOP? I’ve been preparing for this position my whole life.
My love and adoration for Jim Henson and the worlds he created built my foundational sense of imagination and wonder. His creation of inclusive, kind, and colorful characters and environments formed my creative belief system. I have been very fortunate to work in entertainment branding throughout my career, but working with The Muppets who inhabit SESAME STREET has always been at the top of my wish list.
In 2020, as our world changes in unprecedented ways, audiences are changing their expectations for an interaction with brands. I want to create dynamic, innovative content campaigns that anticipate audience consumption patterns and make a difference in educating and shaping young minds to cope with and lead the change we need.
My brand work has connected audiences to some of the best experiences the arts and entertainment industry has to offer: DISNEY. NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC. THE MET MUSEUM. SHOWTIME. IFC. HARRY POTTER. My life and career experience make me the ideal candidate for the Sr. Director, Branded Content position at SESAME WORKSHOP.
I currently serve as Creative Director at global entertainment agency AKA NYC, where I build entertainment brands from scratch. I am responsible for creative development, including brainstorming, mocking up and selling concepts to key stake-holders, directing photo/video shoots, re-touching imagery, compositing finalized assets, working alongside production artists/motion designers, and commissioning outside artists when necessary. I take our finalized art and work hands-on with every facet of the campaign. As a creative leader I pride myself on being able to design to any discipline. I restructured our creative studio to eliminate divisions in traditional and new media design. I inspire creative excellence from my team by empowering them. I curate 360° cross-platform campaigns from concept through production and promotion. While working at ALLIED GLOBAL MARKETING, I acted as the Digital Global Creative Lead for DISNEY THEATRICAL GROUP. In this role, I led the design and strategy of a team of 12 to help deliver bespoke and revenue-driven digital campaigns. I launched a creative refresh for THE LION KING and earned a Creativity International Award.
In the world of entertainment, I have created the keyart for 20+ Broadway and Off-Broadway productions. In the realm of education, I’ve designed a game for GIRL SCOUTS OF AMERICA which helped girls get their HTML coding badge. For the NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN, I executed the design and UX/UI of an interactive digital guide that turned nature learning into gameplay. Digitally, I’ve been responsible for the management, design, and UX/UI of 40+ cross-channel platforms of varying budgets and capabilities. I have created co-branded campaigns with partner companies such as AMERICAN AIRLINES, AMEX, GOOGLE, MASTERCARD, PINKBERRY, and TICKETMASTER.
I approach design strategically—each project presents a series of puzzles, and it is my job to find the best solutions. I infuse my work with heart and hustle.
