NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC - ENCOUNTER is a first-of-its-kind, truly immersive ocean odyssey experience. Using technology, consumers embark on a virtual underwater journey across the Pacific Ocean, exploring some of the ocean’s greatest wonders and mightiest creatures.

CONCEPT

ENCOUNTER is a fully digital exhibition, so the ad campaign had to ensure that consumers would not confuse ENCOUNTER with an aquarium.

When creating the ad campaign, I used wire-framing as a device to illustrate that the exhibition does not feature live creatures. The exhibition does; however, have a series of highly entertaining and educational immersive touch points that put consumers in the middle of the ocean.

My copy team helped add a sense of humor and playfulness to the overall design. NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC has a worldwide reputation for being highly intellectual and serious, but this ad campaign helped prove that it can also be pure fun.
