The New Group:
Off-Broadway
Here is a selection of some of my favorite key art campaigns I’ve created for The New Group, an award-winning, Off-Broadway theater company.

This musical based on the talk show Jerry Springer is a wild ride containing irreverent treatment of Christian themes, extensive profanity, and surreal images, such as a troupe of tap-dancing Ku Klux Klan members.
For the ad campaign, our team wanted to create a poster of organize chaos. Featured in the center is Jerry Springer, with the Devil whispering in his ear. They are the nucleus causing a chain reaction of insanity.
JERRY SPRINGER: THE OPERA is filled with larger-than-life, chaotic charachters. While directing this photoshoot it was important that every moment felt organic, unique and full of story. The small cast played a variety of charachters, all with varying relationships and back stories.
As if! This jukebox musical based on the 1995 film of the same name written by Amy Heckerling. The story is loosely based on Jane Austen's 1815 novel Emma, updating the setting to 1990s Beverly Hills.
The world of CLUELESS is bumble gum pink and exploding with color. However, through many discussion with the creative team and client, we made the decision to create a poster void of color. The protagonist Cher may be appear to be shallow, but she has more brains and insight that she may initially reveal. The black and white photography, helped in conveying a more mature visual language.
The Off-Broadway production starred TV star Dove Cameron. The poster art always had the intention of gives only a brief tease of Dove as Cher, so that the audience are left wanting more. This intentional cropping also allows fans of the film to draw less immediate comparison between the performances of both actresses who have played this iconic role. We utilized splashy photographs of Dove for secondary placements where we toted her totally terrific take on the role.
Set inside a rural Connecticut mental health center, this play depicts an American community on the edge and looks at how health professionals, patients, and families fight to survive in the face of mental illness.
For this production, we strategically decided to focus less on storytelling and more on the scope and star-power of the cast.
Tonally, I wanted to give a brief window into the world of this small-town community through small suggestions of wardrobe and stoic facial expressions. Compositionally I positioned our stars Ed Harris, F.Murrary Abraham, Amy Madigan and Rhea Perlman at the center of this composition as they are both central to the story and familiar faces to audiences
